Anchor Handwriting 1-3
Anchor Handwriting grades K – 3 is a four-level series which introduces students to the fundamentals of English handwriting. Through modern practices and developmentally appropriate skill-building activities, students will progress from letter formation to sentence writing while enhancing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual perception. It facilitates English language literacy by reinforcing students reading and writing skills. Anchor Handwriting can be used independently or as a supplement to the Anchor Reading series.
Student’s Book
Anchor Handwriting Student’s Book engages students through colorful illustrations and characters, clear explanations, and fun and relatable topics. It provides a step-by-step method for students to understand and implement handwriting skills. Through guided practice and interactive activities, students will be able to progress and master the skills needed for writing in English. Students will learn to sit properly, and correctly form letters, numbers, words, and sentences. Additionally, students will be introduced to different types of writing such as notes, lists, invitations, and e-mails. Reviews and tests are included to help in evaluating students’ progress. In Grade 3, students will be introduced to cursive handwriting and writing their own paragraphs.
Teacher's Book
The Teacher’s Book provides complete and easy-to-follow lesson plans for each unit. Through warm ups, practice activities, evaluations, and extensions teachers will have the means to deliver engaging and successful lessons. Each lesson in the Teacher’s Book page contains the corresponding Student’s Book page and organized plans for clear and assessable teaching.
