About the role:
We are looking for an Authoring Supervisor & Finisher to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This role is ideal for an English speaker with experience reviewing and finalizing educational content and a solid understanding of how educational materials function across grade levels. This position is particularly well suited to current or former teachers who want to transition out of the classroom while continuing to make a meaningful impact in education through curriculum refinement and final content development.
You will be responsible for the final review and refinement of educational materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with educational standards, learning objectives, and learning progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review educational content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and age-appropriate tone
- Verify that grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting are correct and meet quality standards
- Ensure consistency in language, terminology, and style between units and across whole books in a series
- Maintain overall quality, coherence, and progression within units and between whole books in a series
- Provide clear editorial feedback and recommendations to authors, editors, designers, illustrators, and management teams
- Review illustrations and visual elements to ensure they support instructional goals, align with content, and are developmentally appropriate
- Collaborate closely with writers, editors, designers, and project managers on-site
- Ensure all feedback has been accurately implemented and content is ready for print
- Identify potential issues in instructional effectiveness, learning progression, or standards alignment
- Ensure all content and activities are aligned with educational standards, learning objectives, best practices, and function as intended for effective classroom use
Requirements:
- Fluent English speaker (written and spoken)
- Teaching experience in a classroom setting
- Experience reviewing, refining, and finalizing educational content for publication
- Strong attention to detail and excellent language accuracy
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Understanding of educational standards and learning progression across grade levels
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in educational publishing or curriculum development
- Experience editing or finishing content for ESL / ELL learners
- Degree in English or Education, or a professional certification in editing
- Experience working collaboratively with on-site teams
