I Am TeRRiFiCC

I Am TeRRiFiCC is a series designed for kindergarten students. The content provides themes that support character building in young learners.  The themes are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, care, and citizenship.   The meaningful stories in the books help children to understand and relate to their own lives. 

I Am TeRRiFiCC is a simple and effective way to teach young students positive behavior that will improve their social skills and build their personalities.  This will in turn help in their overall academic performance.                        

The Student’s Book uses trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, care, and citizenship as the main themes. Each unit contains stories focusing on one theme and using a dilemma to illustrate the positive character trait. After each story, there are age-appropriate, critical thinking questions, problem- solving exercises, and oral and written communication activities to engage students and lead them into developing essential life and social skills.

The Teacher’s Book provides teachers with detailed and easy-to-follow lesson plans, including learning objectives, story summaries, engaging activities, and supplemental worksheets. The clearly organized and methodological approach in I Am TeRRiFiCC gives teachers the tools forn effective and productive lessons.

Mindful Kids

Mindful Kids is a three-level social and emotional series that caters to English Language Learners (ELL) from grades 1-3.  Mindful Kids helps students learn about social and emotional skills as the series demonstrates mutual respect, empathy, conflict management, and cooperation.

 

Mindful kids equip students with tools for independent learning. These include memory skills, imagination, reasoning, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking. Students have a suitable forum for dialogue and discussion that promotes their social and emotional learning. Upon completion of a unit, students get extra conversation practice at the end of each story to further explore themes and lessons learned as well as enhance their English-speaking skills. Self-assessment sentences adhere to the following order to help students apply the themes to their lives:

The Teacher’s Book is a helpful guide that consolidates the values, character development, and language skills covered in the Student’s Book.The Teacher’s Book provides prereading, reading, and post-reading, activities, questions, and strategies. The Teacher’s Book helps teachers make the most out of the series by providing clear instructions and various opportunities for students to revise and assess what they have learned: sequencing the events of a story, summarizing the main points of a story, reflecting on the stories’ themes and morals, language exercises that promote second language acquisition, personalization exercises. The Teacher’s Book provides elicitation techniques and thought-provoking questions to help students connect the stories in their lives.
