Science and Me is a three-level science series for pre-primary school children aligned with the California Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. In Science and Me, science concepts are presented in colorful and engaging lessons that focus on hands-on experiences designed to build on young learners’ natural curiosity and problem solving skills. Science and Me introduces characters that were inspired by STEM professions, stimulating young learners’ curiosity and creating familiarity with future career prospects. This feature also helps to bring the real world closer to in a way that is colorful, engaging, and fun. Lessons are richly illustrated to help young ELLs recognize and recall new words and sentences easily, further developing pre-reading skills. Each lesson ends with homework activities that encourage parents to be active participants in their child’s learning process.

The series offers a student-centered approach and differentiated teaching along with detailed instructions, a breakdown of each lesson, and plenty of suggestions for STEAM activities–individual, pair, and group work– that encourage young learners to problem solve, think critically, and cooperate, helping them to become better prepared to meet future life challenges, all while supporting the teacher in their delivery of successful, engaging lessons. Science and Me Teacher’s Books emphasize an inquiry-based method and the discovery of concepts and ideas rather than direct teaching; this approach allows students to have an active participation in their own learning process, fostering a sense of confidence and accomplishment. Science and Me also promotes integrated learning through CLIL, making language and content learning more meaningful to students.
