Science for the Gulf

Science for the Gulf is a series that specifically caters to countries in the Arabian Peninsula. Its information and pictures have been developed and used for this region, making learning science engaging while respecting culture. It delivers science concepts inside a CLIL curriculum (Content and Language Integrated Learning). CLIL is a dual-focused educational approach. Within CLIL, language (English) is used as a medium for learning content, and the content is used in turn as a resource for learning language (English). Science for the Gulf is a six-level elementary science series that is focused on the ELL learner in the Gulf region. This series is supported by engaging photos and illustrations that reflect the local culture. Science for the Gulf encourages learners to explore science and the nature around them by applying the scientific method in practical and engaging experiments and projects.

The Science for the Gulf Teacher’s Book provides new and experienced teachers teaching strategies, resources, lessons, activities, and ideas to enhance the teaching and learning of science that is age and grade-appropriate. Resources are designed to stimulate students’ interest and involvement. As students engage in the activities of this book, they develop higher-order reasoning skills and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts and how it relates to their everyday life.
